Well, not exactly. In the early days, Alsys developed a tool that translated from a subset of Ada to PL/1. This internal tool was written in PL/1. The first Alsys full-Ada compiler was written in Ada (really the subset) and was compiled with the Ada-to-PL/1 translation tool.
