And? Starting out trying to write an OS for everything from an Atari to a multimillion dollar mainframe or supercomputer just seems like a bad idea. I rather drop stuff off the top (where equipment and developers are scarce) rather than the bottom (where equipment and developers are plentful.) It can always be added in latter. (Cf.
