Ada is dead. That's why there is absolutely no activity on this newsgroup. :-) But seriously: Lurk on this group for a while. You'll discover that a) lots of people use Ada, b) it is not just for the DoD anymore (if anything quite the opposite) and c) it is easy to learn and fun to use. The full language is very rich, so don't expect to become a pro overnight, but you can easily pick up a subset dialect of it very quickly.
