But how can you ever understand the intricacies of the positions and actions of the various groups in Sweden (or anywhere) during, say, WWII, without a thorough knowledge of preceding history? WWII on itself is not history, that is a story. It becomes history when you see it in the context of how thought patterns have grown the way they have, how someone's behaviour follows from the atmosphere they grew up in, and why that atmosphere was as it was..
