It and most of the "popular" software press seems focused on premature promotion/ creation of the next "bandwagon" for Web-based applications. Your best bet is "IEEE Software" or some of the other IEEE journals. I used to be a member of ACM but found that the quality/interest of ACM Queue and other publications was trending downward. I also enjoy reading the Air Force publication CrossTalk. I think Crosstalk has good editorial standards. - Britt (who wishes be could get a *new* subscription to Byte magazine from 1988).
