As far as what I'm researching (or hoping to) and what I have to start from: o Mother's side -- I have a history done by my mother's uncle of my maternal grandmother's line (Miller, which is of course pretty common) that traces back to Germany in the late 17th century. This was done in the early 1950's; I'd like to put it into a computer and expand it. Also, I have nothing on my maternal grandfather's line -- Metcalf (English). o Father's side -- All I have is what I dug up in two days at the Mormon library while on a business trip in Salt Lake city -- from census records. I've gone back with the Braun's, and with my paternal grandmother's family, the Heinen's, as far as finding my four great- grandparents on that side in the 1980 census. They were in Minnesota (I forget the county name offhand, but it's near a small town called Melrose). The census said three of the four were born in Wisconsin, and the other in Germany. I haven't yet traced any of those back. (That Braun was John Braun.) Chris
