Choices that come to my mind are: Posix Unix DOS VMS Apple Desktop Windows Windows NT What I understand is that only Posix can be specified by the Gov because it is an IEEE standard and to specify otherwise would be to specify a vendor's product and they already lost that fight with Unix vs Posix. BUT the article didn't say "specify", rather "make available" which could just mean that it will go on the GSA price list. p.s. I today received an Alsys mailing proclaiming that their Ada compiler is now on the GSA pricelist. Now if Alsys runs under Windows then Gov people will be able to easily order a "point and click" os plus an Ada compiler. What's wrong with this picture? Am I missing something? I need to know before I buy two more Windows os next week. sam harbaugh HARBAUGH@ROO.FIT.EDU account name changed 6/15/93
