I've seen the threads about building gnat-3.11 on top of egcs, and suspect that there may be a problem. I've installed the distribution contained in gnat-3.11p-powerpc-ibm-aix4.1.4.0-bin.tar.gz, but when I run gnatmake I get the following error message: collect2: /usr/lib/libc.a: not an import library gnatmake: *** link failed. This is the same error as the one I got when I installed a binary distribution of gcc-2.8.1 for AIX - so I got egcs-1.1.1, installed it and that's fine. I understand the problem with gcc is something to do with 64 bit libraries under AIX4.3.2 (?) - does this mean the same problem exists for gnat-3.11 under AIX4.3.2? I just need gnat pretty deperately for AIX! Can anyone help? TIA, Chris.
