Language Lab List-Id: Daniel Kjerne writes asking about Ada bindings to GKS. Yes there is an Ada binding to GKS. It is in fact an ANSI (and ISO) approved standard. The standard no is X3.124.3-1989 (8?). I believe it costs about $30 + $5 shipping and handling. About implementations of this standard 1. HP supplies GKS bindings to its Ada compiler on the HP9000s300 and HP9000s800 (I worked on these products). 2. I have heard that DEC has it too. 3. I have seen on some IBM PC AT platforms, though I don't know which ones. On a related note there is also an upcoming Ada binding to PHIGS (Programmers Hierarchical Interactive Graphics System). Currently, it is a draft standard with ISO with the number dIS 9593-3:198x(E). This is the copy that I have, there may be a more current one. The document editor for this standard was (and probably still is) Richard F. Puk (Puk Consulting Services). I do not know of anyone that has an implementation of Ada bindings to PHIGS.
