That's right. But I was assuming from the questin a facility
where the expected and actual implementation is a label address
and an indirect jump.

So I was really referring to the *implementation level* here.

A parellel situation would be to say

"Ah you can't use C pointers here, because we don't allow the
use of addresses in registers at any time."

"But C does not require this implementation model"

And yes, that's true, but in practice this is the only
model likely to be implemented :-)

(after all in Ada, even access types, which are much more
abstract, are often implemented this way :-)
