You can just keep the old slink GDB around - it works with the most recent GNAT. I don't believe there are any major changes to worry about. (GDB 4.18 does not have Ada support available - it doesn't have Linux PThread support available either leaving a large group of people wondering why the Debian GDB maintainer downgraded to the latest version.
