Lt Col Rick Gross, USAF, has volunteered to head this effort. This track is aimed at providing detailed lessons learned and application domain considerations for those about to embark on new projects requiring Ada. The call for abstracts for this special track follows. Projects (both contractors and government program offices) interested in participating should contact Lt Col Gross as soon as possible. ---------------------------------------------- CALL FOR PRESENTATIONS SPECIAL "Ada IN PRACTICE" SESSIONS TRI-Ada '89 PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA OCTOBER 23-26, 1989 Abstracts are solicited for presentations at a set of special additional sessions, "Ada in Practice," at the TRI-Ada '89 Conference. The purpose of these sessions is to present and discuss Ada decisions/rationale from real-world (for-profit) programs. Presentations will be selected based on the degree to which they contain specific rationale for decisions on the following subjects: * Difficulties encountered * System size/complexity * Substantive technical issues determination * Quantitative system data * Compiler and tool problems * Hardware architecture * Usefulness of management * Software architecture techniques * Hardware/systems software/ * Why Ada was beneficial/ applications software not beneficial tradeoffs * What would be done differently next time Up to eight presentations meeting the above criteria will be accepted. Presentations must limit inclusion of program descriptions, putting the focus on the "why," not the "what."
