The following is an excerpt from that article: ---------- W. Frank King, senior vice president of Lotus' software products group, talked about the technical challenge of rewriting 1-2-3 so that it works on five different software operating systems while still maintaining full compatibility with existing 1-2-3 spreadsheets. He described the challenge as "an order of magnitude over previous development efforts," but said the code writing phase "is really behind us" and "the work in front of us is understandable and predictable."
