When we (Thomas L�cke, Kim Rostgaard Christensen and I) tested it, AWS
was more than 1000 times faster than both Ruby on Rails and PHP [1].

AWS is fast enough to trigger a race-condition bug in ApacheBench.
Thomas has written about this on his blog.
