Everyone understands it, virtually everyone but you uses it, and (almost?) every Usenet client fully supports it. I can think of no reason not to use it, unless your goal is for your posts to stand out from others in a rather unpleasant way. I mentioned before that your scheme seemed like a lot of effort. In fact the level of effort is irrelevant.
