What sort of serious thesis work would dictate the use > of Java or C++? Perhaps, C++ has so many little-understood fine points that theoretical research is required to explain them all? Perhaps it is necessary to do some in-depth research to improve the performance and predictability of Java programs? Ada is just too good for this; it is well understood and does not suffer from inherent performance problems. Or, perhaps there is no rationality at all in the advice given by university professors; they just recommend a language they think they can have fun with themselves. Or they want to be part of the large C++ or Java communities, and not feel isolated as a member of the small Ada community. Also, they have no need for a language that promotes code reuse or maintainability; they do not reuse nor maintain code :( -- Ludovic Brenta.
