The GPL ensures that end users can get the application source code, putting Ada code into the hands of more people and maybe getting some of them improving it. The LGPL on the other hand possibly yields improved revenue opportunities to the app writer, so in theory a few more apps might get written. I don't think there's a clear-cut answer to which of these is better for the Ada community. There are costs and benefits either way.
