I apologize - I'm still getting used to the interface. I was going back to the first reply arrow, rather than the one from the previous item in the thread. What I was trying to do was clarify some of the items I expect to show up in a Web interface that maintains multiple, concurrent user sessions and has different messages that need to go to different users.
