I think that Tony is perhaps confusing Object Oriented Programming
with Object Oriented design. It is quite possible to map an object
oriented design onto a non-object oriented programming language but
then you find that you end up with a system that does not contain
either the advantages, simplicity (relatively speaking) or protection
that the features you mentioned in your article provide.
