These are AdaGraph, a platform-independent Ada 95 interface for simple 2-dimensional high-resolution color graphics, and Spider, an animated turtle- graphics-like system for learning algorithms in first-semester courses. Both are in active use at GW and elsewhere, are available at no cost for Windows 95/98/NT and Apple Macintosh and can be downloaded from http://www.seas.gwu.edu/~mfeldman/cs1book/software.html AdaGraph was originally developed for Windows 95/98/NT by Jerry van Dijk, and re-implemented for the Apple Power Macintosh running under Tenon's MachTen CodeBuilder by Jim Hopper, Michael Feldman, and John Matthews. Spider was written by Michael Feldman as an extension of work by John Dalbey. Enjoy! Please e-mail us and tell us how you like this!
