Dr. Wilkes once said, "There is no problem in computer programming that cannot be solved by yet one more level of indirection." Ever since then, we have been solving problems via indirection (pointers). Who was it that replied to Dr. Wilkes with, "The is no problem in computer programming that cannot be made more complicated by yet one more level of indirection." ????? Perhaps it is time to revert to the good old days of Fortran and COBOL where everything was direct. I hope the humor of this is not lost on some reader. I do not need to be up to my neck in flames -- errrrrr, pointers to flames. Richard Riehle richard@adaworks.com http://www.adaworks.com
