Yes, of course we know prices, a lot of us were around then :-) As one example, a complete professional development system from Alsys for the PC cost $3000, including a 4 meg memory board which in those days was worth about $1000. This was the most expensive option for the PC, two other companies (RR and Meridian) made far less expensive compilers available. All these compilers were available at reduced prices to universities. You seem to be talking about the cost of one particular compiler on a chip that was, in the Ada market, fairly marginal. You can not assume that all other Ada systems cost the same amount.
