I think this is just a packaging issue. IBM 'alpha works' programmers are too lazy to use generic packaging, they seem to use windows specific ways to install the software which will not work on Unix systems. It does seem kind'a stupied of IBM to write something in Java, and then to have an installer that only works on windows. (but what else would you expect from big companies). Bill.
