When gnat 3.09 was released, Linux had just made the transition from a.ou to elf, so linux ports of any software were usually identified with elf in the name to signify elf support. Nowadays, that's all that's supported, so 3.10 and 3.11 don't make that distinction. There are two ports for 3.11, however, one for gnulibc1 (aka libc5), and the other for libc6. Slackware, for example, is libc5, and Redhat 5 is libc6, but I don't know which Caldera is. I hope this helps to clear it up some. David C. Hoos, Sr.
