Bingo! I think that was the original point (at least that's what I thought it was). I'm currently trying to find a good open-source license to use, and this trips over just the issue I'm comming up against. I don't wan't to use some "idiosyncratic" license, because that in and of itself could somewhat limit the software's use. But at the same time the GPL (and even to a lesser extent the LGPL) seem to have unfortunate "infectious" attributes.
