Our development is based on the needs of our customers and our own development team, and we have our own opinions about how things should be done. Tight integration of GNAT related features is indeed one of the goals we have. We are simply sharing what we do here, no one is forced to take it if they don't want to! We will most certainly be continuing to develop Ada mode, but independent development is certainly welcome, and we will feel free to borrow any good ideas out there, and people should feel free to borrow any of our ideas that they care to!
