List-Id: A while back I asked for comments on the usefulness of the SIMTEL-20 public domain repository. Thanks to all of you who responded. I received 16 responses. They are briefly summarized below. - 2 people did not know about the repository. - 2 people thought the repository was not only useful, but really great. - 10 people thought that there were some useful pieces of software in the repository, but that the quality was not good enough to be used without some changes. - 2 people thought the software was not useful at all. Of those who used the repository, the biggest complaints were: - poor documentation of the software, - inability to find the right piece of code quickly and - inconsistent quality. Sorry it took so long to get this posted, but I was hoping for more responses. -- Gary Pollice pollice@wanginst (CSNET) Wang Institute of Graduate Studies decvax!wanginst!pollice (UUCP) Tyng Road, Tyngsboro, MA 01879 (617) 649-9731
