Message-ID: <676890738.4822@minster.york.ac.uk> Date: 14 Jun 91 09:12:18 GMT Organization: Department of Computer Science, University of York, England List-Id: The Commercial Ada Task Group was set up in the UK December 1990 under the auspices of Ada UK organisation to encourage and promote the principles of good software engineering practice and the use of the Ada programming language across all levels and types of industry, particularly outside of defence, by: promotions at exhibitions; input into identified supporting initiiatives; the development and sponsorship of technology-based seminars to targeted industries and companies. The CATG's founder members are: SD-Scicon; Alsys; DDC International; York Software Engineering; Centre for Advanced Software Design; NA Software. The CATG works under the banner "Project ABACUS" (Ada Business Association Campaign for Use of Software engineering). The response to Project ABACUS has so far been excellent. I am currently coordinating the development of the Project ABACUS seminar series. The final session of each seminar will be used to present short case studies/overviews of successful applications of Ada. I am looking for factual details of (large) projects on which Ada has been used successfully, specifically in non-defence areas. Details, pointers to literature, contacts etc would all be most welcome. Please respond by e-mail or fax. I am quite willing to post summarised information back to the net at a later date. Thank you in anticipation. New CATG members are always welcome - contact me by fax for details.
