I don't think that's true in the general case. What I have seen a lot of is the rosy spin they try to put on everthing. When your health care benefits are no longer free, but require a contribution from the employee, they say this is good because "it gives you more choices". When they don't give pay raises this quarter it means the company is taking steps to stay competitive and your job is more secure. These things aren't exactly lies.
