Don't tell me you swallowed that bilge about the global village?!? ;-)

Why don't most Americans (will somebody please come up with an accurate
and easy to use word denoting citizens of the U.S.A.) learn more than
one language?  They don't need too!

Most Africans and South Americans and a very large chunk of Asians
have no use for either Mandarin or English.  They speak their
native language plus one other tribal language and/or perhaps the
national language if it differs from their native tongue.
