Rational Software Corporation is seeking two technical support
engineers for the Rational Apex product. Rational Apex is an
integrated development environment which supports large scale
Ada83, Ada95, C, and C++ programming and development. Rational
Apex is an integral part of a large suite of Rational products.
Customers of Rational Apex are mainly in the defense, aerospace,
and telecommunication sectors, but there are users in many other
industries as well.
 
Rational is seeking technical support engineers with some
combination of the following qualifications (preferably more
from the top of the list than from the bottom):
 
   Experience programming in Ada83 or Ada95
   Experience supporting or developing Unix-based products
   Interest in and temperament suited to helping end users
      to understand and to use the product effectively
   Good verbal and written communication skills
   Experience programming in C++
   Experience using Rational Apex
   Ability to prioritize well
   Equal facility in communicating on a technical level with
      senior engineers and on a layperson's level with less
      experienced users
   Experience supporting or developing Windows NT-based products
 
   BS or MS in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent
      experience is required, as is two to five years' experience
      in software development or technical support
 
These positions are in Rational's Cupertino, CA headquarters.
