For all these reuse centers, is there a single ftp site specializing in Ada? I dont know about most people, but I find scanning SIMTEL to be slow and tedious compared to scanning the University Internet web. Anyway, here's a small contribution. I have developed an Ada binding to Adobe's AFM parser. It has been tested and works, but because of C/Ada clashes, doesnt yet handle some of the more exotic AFM info like composite characters. But its quite capable of getting the character width and kerning info which is all most applications need. I hope to improve it before making it available via ftp somewhere, but will mail it to anyone who asks. A pure Ada version would be nice, but I dont have time/need to do that now. If there are enough requests, I will place it on some ftp site as is. Does anyone know of an ftp site where this would be appropriate? OK, so all you people writing commercial page layout programs in Ada, can get a little leg up :) -- --------------------------------------------------- Alex Blakemore alex@cs.umd.edu NeXT mail accepted
