Recently, I decided to have a go at designing a programming language partly for the fun of it and partly for the learning experience. The language is called "Rocks" and the slogan is "Something to REALLY throw at your computer". If you think about it, rocks share many attributes with good languages (strong structures etc). Ideas have been pinched from Ada, Eiffel and C; but the language does not copy the syntax of any of these. So far I have produced a six-page document with informal notes on the following: Definitions and Declarations, Attribute Definitions, Pointers, Typing Strength Assertions, Subprograms, Constructs, Encapsulation and Visibility Special OO Issues, Multitasking. At this point in the process, I would very much appreciate interactive voluntary guidance over the next fortnight from someone who is prepared to recieve my document in RTF format via email. -- Adrian Morgan
