I understand that marketplace perfectly well. I know the history of the IBM PC and its clones. I can see the logic of each decision which brought us to where we are now (me typing this on a P5-90 under Win95). That does not negate my point. If anything, it re-enforces it. I've talked to people about Eiffel, and then watched them go out and buy C++. And I understand their reasons perfectly well.
