For small programs for = private use, using gettext seems unnecessarily complicated. I think a=20 language that's popular for hobby programming among teenagers today will = be popular for big serious projects tomorrow (whether it's suitabe for=20 those projects or not). I like to be able to use my mother tongue in=20 prototypes and small programs, and I don't think I'm alone. I can do=20 that with Ada because Latin 1 has all the Swedish letters, but people=20 outside the "western world" can't.
