The concept of technology and its diffusion through : society started in Europe in the 16th century. This is from "The I sort of meant that Calculus was invented say about 300 years before the word "technology" so if the word had existed when calculus was invented, maybe it would have been used to describe something like "Mathematica Thechnologitica" or something like that....
