It is compatible with Sun Solaris 2.4 & 2.5, Java JDK 1.1, and GNAT 3.09. ADEPT is a package of tools, and a PCS, to support the distributed programming annex of Ada 95. This release supports Java to Ada interoperability by allowing Java clients to access Ada servers. This is accomplished with the requirement that each component (client and server), use their respective distributed object models. For instance, Java clients use Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) to call distributed remote objects that have been created using Annex E in an Ada server. This is accomplished by means of an agent (JxAgent), which can be configured in various ways. This recent work has been funded by Computer Sciences Corp. A live demonstration of ADEPT/JxA capabilities will be presented at the 1997 Software Technology Conference, in SLC Utah, April 28-30. It will be located at the CSC booth (#817), on the exhibit floor.
