Though it might be preaching to the choir here, I really have to point out that the Ariane failure was in no way related to Ada (or any language) but rather a PROCESS failure. Nobody documented the "shortcut" taken (no exception handler), so nobody knew it wouldn't work in other flight regimes, so nobody tested it, so the rocket blew up. Kind of a graphic demonstration of the "hidden" costs of software engineering shortcuts, eh?
