The workshop speakers ______________________ * Lars ASPLUND is Professor at the Department of Computer Systems (DOCS) at Uppsala University, Sweden and leads two research groups: neural networks with application for ATM-networks and hardware implementation and Real Time Systems with emphasis for distributed Ada. He is chairman for Ada in Sweden and member of the Swedish ISO-committee for computer languages. * Cyrille COMAR is a member of Ada Core Technologies (ACT) and founder of ACT Europe. He is one of the key architect of GNAT and has implemented the object-oriented features and its library model. * Pierre Dissaux is products manager at TNI and carries out his activities around HOOD. TNI has produced STOOD which is a CASE tool for HOOD~4 and generates Ada, and C/C++ code. STOOD can now generate Ada 95 code. * Robert Dewar is Professor at New York University and President of Ada Core Technologies (ACT). He has been intensively involved in programming languages and was a Distinguished Reviewer of Ada 95. He has been involved in the design and implementation of the Alsys Ada compiler. Now, he coordinates the activities around GNAT. * Franco Gasperoni is a member of the GNAT team. He is the co-founder of ACT Europe. He contributes to the development of GNAT. His current interests are software engineering and software tools to assist GNAT programmers. * Yvon Kermarrec is assistant Professor at ENST de Bretagne in Brest. He is a member of the GNAT team and is working on the design and implementation of the Distributed System Annex of Ada 95. His research interests are distributed systems and platforms, OSF DCE and software engineering. * Laurent Nana is a PhD student at ENST de Bretagne in Brest. He is a member of the GNAT team and he is in charge of the implementation of the distributed features of Ada 95 in GNAT. His research interests are distributed system and fault tolerance. * Laurent Pautet is assistant Professor at ENST, Paris and member of the GNAT team. His research interests include software engineering, distributed systems, and real-time systems. He is currently participating to the implementation of the Ada 95 Distributed System Annex for GNAT. * Alfred Strohmeier is a Professor of Computer Science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Switzerland where he leads the Software Engineering Laboratory. He has been teaching object-oriented design and Ada (since 1981) in academic and industrial settings. He has been a Distinguished Reviewer of Ada 95 and participated in its definition. His current interests are Software Engineering; Software Development Methodologies, especially object-oriented approaches; Software Development Environments; and technologies related to the Ada language, including software components and bindings. * Ed Schonberg is Professor of Computer Science at New York University and is one of the founders of Ada Core technologies (ACT). His research interests include the design and implementation of programming languages, Software Engineering and programming methodologies, and chamber music.
