Open House and Software Technology Forum - To introduce the audience to many of the projects and activities of the Software Engineering Department at Monmouth University, opening a forum for discussion of the resources available to the community and the needs of the community. Sponsored by Monmouth University and the Software Engineering Department. 2. Java Technology Forum - To provide a forum for the discussion of the topic of Java, Internet programming, and the associated issues (including security of the Internet). These are hot topics, and large numbers of our community have shown an interest in finding out more. Sponsored by Monmouth University, the Software Engineering Department, the Java User Group for Military Applications (JUGMAP), and General Dynamics Land Systems. Monmouth University is actively supporting some of the education, training, and research needs of our local community in Monmouth County, New Jersey. Our students and customers (project funding sources) come from Fort Monmouth, AT&T Bell Labs, Bell Atlantic, the Federal Aviation Administration Technical Center, Bell Core, The MITRE Corporation, the Defense Information Systems Agency, the Army Research Office, insurance companies, medical research companies, and a wide variety of support contractors. DIRECTIONS TO MONMOUTH UNIVERSITY Monmouth University is located in West Long Branch, New Jersey, just 60 miles south of New York City on the Jersey Coast. From the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 105. The Parkway off ramp leads directly onto Route 36 East. Continue on Route 36 East approximately 3 miles to Route 71. Turn right onto Route 71 South. Go approximately 1 mile and Route 71 will fork left and become Cedar Avenue. The university has four vehicle entrances to the main campus: off Larchwood Avenue (which connects to Route 71), off Cedar Avenue (Route 71), and two entraces off Norwood Avenue (Route 71). The Open House will be in Howard Hall (Pollack Auditorium and the Software Engineering Lab) on the first day and Bey Hall (Young Auditorium) and Howard Hall (Software Engineering Lab) on the second day. The easiest way to get to Howard and Bey Hall is to use Larchwood Avenue off of Route 71. Park in the large parking lot off of Larchwood on the Left.
