I disagree: hard sciences are mostly using the milli-second, micro-second, nano-second and pico-seconds units. Not counting astronomy that uses both 10**-(any big number here) seconds and 10**(any big number here) years values, with no unit to avail. As such, the narrow edge that is represented by the interval 1 year .. 1 second is too meaningless to consider seriously. 8-) Just a bizarre catastrophe.
