For a particular project then yes Ada or C++ or BCPL or whatever may be the best... but for EVERY project there is no one language that is the best every time. I am quite happy to admit that I prefer programming in C/C++ to programming in Basic, but if I want a really small simple thing done I'm willing to use a batch file/shell script. If I can do it in that in a couple of minutes why do I need to write a fully compiled program that will do it. Need I add that all of this is my own personal opinions? BTW in my opinion I won't find a language that is perfect for me until I write one that does everything I want in the way that I want it to, even then, you may not like it, or you may only like bits of it. And i'm never going to write it because my requirements are always changing... :-) Adam.
