Sad. I don't think Jerrid is aiming for "a pile of eye-candy". If you take a look at his http://planet.ada.cx/ website you'll see a very modern and simple design. No eye-candy there, just a modern, easy to read and straightforward carrier of information. Modern does not equal "a pile of eye-candy".
