Whatever is the actual interface to the database should not have any influence on the proper way to define this. And SQL isn't "untyped". It supports a rather small set of data types that can be stored in tables. It seems to me one cannot design an Ada interface that requires passing data using Params => (1 => +Name'Access) and then blame the results on anything but themselves.
