However, I think it would be a big mistake to make rigid compatability with Windows' .ini files a goal. For one thing, many if not most Ada programs do not run on Windows. For another, that file format is in thrall to Microsoft, and is probably only defined in Microsoft copyrighted documents, if at all. Anything we come up with will have to be something we can define with precision in the new LRM, without having to worry about violating anyone's copyright, or having the format change out from under us at the whim of one (non-Ada) vendor. -- T.E.D.
