Instead the obvious Two things here: 1) I was advising nothing of the sort, which should have been quite clear from the text you quoted. I was only giving an option conditioned on whether the poster wants to use Emacs or not. There is no text in my message on whether that's advisable or not. There's a good reason for that, which is... 2) The poster never claimed to be a beginner with programming in general, just with Ada.
