(:-)) I'm not sure now! ;-) All I'm saying is that for the embedded system I work with, we don't /need/ UTC (and I suspect that's true for a lot of apps). We do need a notion of timestamp but there is no need to actually tie it to UTC or any 'calendar' - it just needs to be from 'reset' for each board.
