Expensive yes. Of course on the plus side, wait a week and perhaps the dollar will collapse so low that $100 won't mean anything ;) Too OO is an interesting topic. There are some schools that are going with an objects first approach to introduction to programming (University of New Hampshire for example -- though with Java). They are certainly not the first college to go with this approach but I think it is still too soon to tell how approaches like this will work out.
