It is not public domain, it is a commercial product of Meridian. Last time I looked it was marketed as AdaZ (A to Z, get it?) and is kind of like the early Turbo C interface, with windows (little w). It was introduced at around $150 advertised to go up to $500 after the intro special. We bought about 50 of them at CSC. That was a few years ago; I don't know what the current status is.
