A quick rename of "customize" to "customize-old" and life got good again with no apparent impact to starting up GPS. It may take a while to discover what was originally using the "customize" file and is now broke. Hopefully, it was something the newer version doesn't need. Has anyone else encountered this or is it a problem unique to my installation?
